Nice app ! very good idea to share it and embed in a website… That’s some thing could be improve, the menu should be better look than code look (DO_THAT_FUNCTION_ETC) If we can made scroll available it’s nice because you know that size of powerpoint/keynote style not work really fine finally for every device… Scroll permit some more big stuff than doing 3 or 4 pages to give a text in full… all the video embeded etc… is very nice things. Some more widget or functionality like Adobe Muse still fine for the app in the futur ;) But well done

Disappointing

There are bugs, not so important, but the experience could be better. The big deal is that you cannot keep your presentation private and securized for coworkers, if you don’t pay a monthly or annually subscription. So, you cannot use it for work with the basic version, that you actually pay 9€... Nowhere in the description on the AppStore, it is written that some features are only available for premium subscribers… It is not really fair when you buy the software ! I have paid for a software that I can’t use.

Crashes too often to be able to

This seems like a flashy program that might be useful. I haven’t been able to test it much as it crashes about every fourth click. On first inspection it appears to be style over substance with an emphasis on cool! whiz! bang! without a lot of thought of how this is different from say Keynote or Deckset. There is no clearly articulated vision in the tool itself, only in the examples and PR materials. If it were revolutionary it would be apparent in the design from the ground up and we wouldn’t need to be told. It is slightly different from existing competitors but not to the degree suggested by the sales team. I cannot find anything really new here except being able to embed full PDF docs into slides/screens/pages. I can already do that in LaTeX (hard custom solution) or in Pages via links and kludges (not ideal). I teach scientific presentation and visualization to STEM undergrads and purchase and play with pretty much all such programs. I see no reason to suggest this tool to students. I believe the goal here is an online story telling tool for the post-literate generation. Maybe I should just go back to yelling at the kids on my lawn.

It is still a work in progress

I tried to use flowvella to create a presentation. The positive aspects is that the idea of creating a presentation in the form of a webpage and making it easily shareable is great. Practically speaking, I found it very time consuming to align all the objects from one page to another. The text editing in the text box was tedious and slow. So the time to actually create even a basic presentation was too high.

Useful only if subscribing online

Just bought the app. I was interested in sharing some photogalleries to my clients but some key functions like export to pdf and the option to share password protected boards are only available after subscribing online to the pro version.

Useful out of the box. Needs a few tweaks like everything else

I do lots of presentations remotely and this seems like a very unique option especially with the option to include pdf documents directly thorugh the web links. One thing that was mentioned was the inability to export to pdf. This is not true. You can export your presentation directly to pdf through the application just like almost every other Mac app out there. i tested this after reading through some of the reviews. It is super easy to create really nice presentation and I would like to see some increase in speed on displaying videos uploaded to the cloud. This product will keep getting better with time. Interested in how nice its going to play with the iPad. I don’t like how it restricts me from putting a password on the presentation. This will limit my comfort level in doing presentations where sensitive information is concerned. I suppose I could just delete the presentation from the app and cloud.

Do you want distant and powerful Presentation Decks?

I think that the most important aspect of this software is that it comes on a variety of platforms - and I find that on any given day I am using a smartphone, an iPad, Leap Motion or the ‘ol laptop. And this software works seamlessly on all of them - those of you reading this know that this feat alone is rare in the software world. Flowboard has set my various weekly presentations off - in a very positive way - from others in the room. It allows my clients and fellow faculty total engagement and the ability to work with any of the material in a nonlinear way - fantastic. Can it be improved - of course and I have seen the progression of improvements over these past months - allowing me… one or more new features each time that I actually didn’t know I wanted… So I am writing this as a “wow… one more platform” commentary. If you’re a newbie on this - test it out… play with it… select buttons/actions and if things kind of blow-up in front of you… try a different angle… this is a fun platform. Bottom line - this is a cool product!

Good in concept, fragile with common operations

The concept of Flowboard is nice, create a simple presentation, embed content from around the web, and share it. However, in using it, I find it is fragile and crashes a lot while performing must do ooperations like sizing fonts, selecting and deleting text, etc. The truth is, this version is not usable. I’m going back to Keynote, where I can take the concepts enforced by Flowboad, while actually getting my work done. I look forward to updates that stablize it.

Wonderful app! Extremely useful! (amended review)

I wrote a negative review earlier and regret it (hence, I am replacing that). Upon learning of my difficulties, the Flowboard team reached out and guided me. It is indeed easy to export the files to PDF without any additional costs. I am really delighted at the prospects of this app and can’t wait to create many presentations. Looking forward to further developments of this project and wish everyone involved the very best.

Great alternative to Keynote

Great app. Most useful for making a resume/cover letter that I can share on the internet—which I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do with Keynote. Microsoft kinda let’s you do this with OneDrive, but the other user has to have PowerPoint or some client-side app.

We’re Making Progress!

Okay, the ball is rolling and things that didn’t work previously are now working. Their team does followup with support and that’s a good thing. One more star added from my previous review that has been revoked as progress has been made.

Buggy.

I love the concept, but it was harder and more frustrating to use than a PowerPoint. It closed more than 20 times when trying to make simple — easy — changes. I’m sure it will get better, but for now. I can’t give it my best…again, love the idea.

Shows promise, but not ready for the real world

I like the concept of interactive navigation and the ability to share. However the other presentation features are so basic, that many professionals who are used to Power Point will find it difficult to author the content they need. The idea of incorporating web-like impression statistics is powerful if you’re creating a presentation for a large sales force and you want to see what’s actually getting shown to customers — or perhaps if you’re embedding the presentation in a web site and you’re looking for feedback on what visitors actually spend time with. However if you’re creating your own presentations — that you plan to deliver, you probably won’t use this feature. I hope the team sally’s forth with their concept. At the moment however, it’s not entirely clear whether they’re creating a presentation editor or a wix-style web site editor.

Awesome Presentation Tool

I love the flexibility you have when making presentations. Very interesting how they support multiple media types (pdf, youtube, vimeo, etc) that can be embedded inside of your presentation. I’m also a fan of the great looking templates that are available in the app - very high quality.

You can have the most crashes in this app

My laptop is Mac Pro retina with 8G RAM, I can run Final Cut and IMovie at the same time editing videos smoothly. But I cant run this app with all other apps closed. It crushes 6 times in 30 minutes. It is so smart that it crashes before you have emough time so save your job. I like the concept, but you cant be productive with the crashes.

Still buggy

Flowboard is an awesome idea and really does look great. But I’m one of those people who experience complete crashes often (about 10-20 times a session). I’m gonna stop using this app until the next version. Hopefully it gets better!

Buggy but very nice support people.

I had a bunch of formatting issues and crashes. the support people are very nice and are trying hard to make this software stable. I ended up uninstalling it and doing my presentation in google slides, which had the share function and is also colabritive. Sorry Flipboard team

Fake app

I am wondering if you are a real company ? It doesn’t even show up when I fire the app…. I lost my 10 buckz….

Great App - But keeps hanging up

The app is a great idea, but needs some serious work. Seems every time I make some edits, it hangs up and eventually crashes. My diagnostics says it is sucking up all my available memory - even with all other apps closed. When creating edit boxes, something happens eventually that results in the box having no lower point (i.e. it appears to be thousands of lines in length. That’s probably what is causing it to hang up.

THE BEST EVER!!!

Every update keeps getting better: This is the best app ever. It took my basic training tools and enhanced them to be the 2014 material people and students should be seeing. Interactive and engaging. The developers are quick to respond and very helpful. I will never present the same again :) This app will change the way you present. It does everything I expected and more. This will be my go to presentation software for years to come. Trust me when I say FLOWBOARD is the BEST! If you are giving this app less than 5 stars then it may be user error. Just email the developer and they will help you if you have an issue. Plus they want their product to be a good one :) Teachers can create interactive openhouse or back to school night presentations for parents and students. You can engage your students in your lesson when they are absent and or need more help. Business owners or people who are self employed can make business cards with the flowboard address on it, so that people can always access your flowboard and you can always change/update your information so that it is current :) This tool can even be used as a resume! Artist can display their work of art. Just a genius group of developers and it works wonders for me. It is worth every penny. I LOVE FLOWBOARD!
